Yao Zhang

Yao Zhang is a research scientist at Colorado State University's Natural Resource Ecology Lab. In this role, he co-leads the MEMS model development team. Their primary research focuses on enhancing the model's capabilities to simulate the complex interactions between grazing management strategies and key environmental parameters. Specifically for the 3M project, Zhang's work examines forage production dynamics, animal nutrient uptake, soil water content, soil carbon cycling, and soil nitrogen dynamics. The MEMS model will be used to support the decision-making process for the three study regions.
