Roots & Revelry: Honoring the Land Through Regenerative Ranching

Rancher Mike Jones

Roots & Revelry is a celebration of the land—and Noble’s enduring commitment to care for it and to help those who steward it.

Hosted by Noble Research Institute, this special gathering reflects the vision first planted by Lloyd Noble in the wake of the Dust Bowl: that healthy soil is the foundation of a healthy nation. Noble, an oilman moved by the environmental devastation he saw across the Southern Plains, believed that scientific knowledge, practical support, and deep respect for the land could help restore what had been lost and protect what could still flourish.

That belief became the basis of Noble Research Institute in 1945, and it continues to guide the Institute today, with a focus on regenerative ranching as a way forward in a changing environment. Regenerative practices are rooted in the understanding that the land is not a resource to be used up, but a living system that, when cared for, gives back.

Roots & Revelry is a moment to gather, reflect, and reconnect—to the land, to each other, and to the principles that have long guided our work: stewardship, resilience, and renewal. This event honors the legacy of Lloyd Noble and the mantle he bestowed on Noble Research Institute as the “Keeper of the Land.”

Through the seasons, Roots & Revelry will serve as the enduring foundation to celebrate the perseverance of producers, and the promise of regenerative land management to restore both landscapes and livelihoods.

Roots & Revelry creates a unique opportunity to build affinity for Noble’s mission by bringing together partners, producers, and supporters around a shared commitment to regenerative land stewardship. By celebrating our collective progress and spotlighting real-world impact, the event fosters deeper connection to our work and strengthens trust in Noble as a leader in agricultural transformation. It also serves as a strategic touchpoint for cultivating new relationships, inspiring investment in our mission, and positioning Noble as the foremost nonprofit advancing education, research, and practical solutions for soil health and profitable grazing land management.
