Justin Derner

Co-Investigator (Remote Sensing)

Justin Derner is a co-investigator on the Remote Sensing module for the 3M project. In this position, he leads a team assessing the performance and transferability of satellite-based standing herbaceous models across the 3M core sites and participating ranches. These models provide a metric of grassland ecosystem health and responses to climate/grazing management over time. Dr. Derner has been with the USDA-Agricultural Research Service since 1998, and he holds degrees in range science and rangeland ecology and management.
