Feng Gao
Co-Investigator (Remote Sensing)
Feng Gao is a co-investigator on the Remote Sensing module for the 3M project. In this position, he produces and analyzes Leaf Area Index (LAI) and phenology data derived from satellite observations that encompass the entire project area and beyond. The LAI and phenology information are utilized to evaluate the effects of grazing management and soil health through time-series observations and modeling. Dr. Gao has been with the USDA-ARS Hydrology and Remote Sensing Lab since 2011, and he holds degrees in geoscience, remote sensing and computer science.
