Dale Manning

Lead (Biogeochemical and Economic)

Dale Manning is leading the integration of biogeochemical and economic modeling to inform the potential for policy and market incentives to improve soil management and ecological outcomes on US grazinglands.  The linked model also contributes to the producer tool that will provide individual ranchers with information about the profitability of pursuing alternative grazing strategies on their land.  Finally, Dale is contributing to a survey of a representative sample of ranchers to elicit interest in, and barriers to, adopting grazing strategies that include higher frequency rotations.

He holds a doctorate from UC-Davis in agricultural and resource economics.  He recently moved from Colorado State University to the University of Tennessee, where he holds a joint appointment with Agricultural and Resource Economics and the Baker School of Public Policy.
