Matt Hamilton

Matt Hamilton is a rancher and entrepreneur in northeastern Texas. He runs a direct-market cow-calf enterprise and a stocker cattle operation. His retail market and restaurant, Local Yocal, connects customers with regenerative cattle production.

His mission is to produce cleaner meats with less chemical inputs. Hamilton’s multi-faceted retail business started in 2010 and has grown considerably. He’s proud to serve his neighbors cuts of beef he feels are healthier alternatives to grocery-store brands.

When he isn’t on the ranch or behind the meat counter, Hamilton is an experienced public speaker who enjoys sharing what he’s learned with producers and industry leaders. He’s also active in his local Main Street Association and the Economic Development Corporation.
