ARDMORE, Okla. — Noble Research Institute Director of Communications and Public Relations J. Adam Calaway received the 2018 Association for Communication Excellence (ACE) Award of Excellence in Publishing and Graphic Design at this year's conference in Scottsdale, Arizona.

This annual award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated excellence in the field of publishing, as well as leadership and involvement in ACE.

"On behalf of the Noble Research Institute, we congratulate Adam on receiving this award. It is a tremendous accomplishment," said Bill Buckner, Noble Research Institute president and chief executive officer. "Adam continues to distinguish himself as one of the top leaders in the communications and public relations community."

Calaway has contributed to the field of publishing by establishing Noble's award winning Legacy magazine more than 12 years ago and serving as its editor and a writer since inception. He also serves as editor of the organization's annual report. Each publication has received numerous awards as part of ACE's critique and awards program.

In the past eight years, Calaway's writing in publications has won 13 awards, including six golds. His most recent story "Miracles and Magnolias" received this year's gold in writing for magazines, and the Outstanding Professional Skill (best in class) award for the writing division.

"I am honored to be recognized by the ACE community, my staff and my peers," Calaway said. "Our founder, Lloyd Noble, said, 'That no individual builds anything worthwhile by his effort alone,' and that is truly the case here. All credit goes to the amazingly talented Noble communications team who I have the privilege of working with every day."

Calaway leads Noble's communications department that has won a collective 70 ACE awards during the last six years, including 30 golds. His team has also won six ACE outstanding professional skill awards.

Calaway began his career in newspaper journalism at the Lawton Constitution before branching into communications/public relations, first for Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma, and then for the Noble Research Institute. He has been with Noble since 2006.

Noble Research Institute, LLC (www.noble.org) is an independent nonprofit agricultural research organization dedicated to delivering solutions to great agricultural challenges. Headquartered in Ardmore, Oklahoma, Noble’s goal is to achieve regenerative land stewardship in grazing animal production with producer profitability. Achievement of this goal will be measured by farmers and ranchers profitably regenerating hundreds of millions of acres of U.S. grazing lands. Noble aims to remove, mitigate or help producers avoid the barriers that deter the lasting use of regenerative, profitable land management practices in grazing animal production.

Researchers, consultants, educators and ranch staff work together to give farmers and ranchers the skills and tools to regenerate the land in a profitable manner. Noble researchers and educators seek and deliver answers to producer questions concerning regenerative management of pasture and range environments, wildlife, pecan production, and livestock production. Regenerative management recognizes that each decision made on the ranch impacts the interactions of the soil, plants, water, animals and producers. Noble’s 14,000 acres of working ranch lands provide a living laboratory on which to demonstrate and practice regenerative principles and ideas to deliver value to farmers and ranchers across the U.S.
