General Overview

The Pond Management Series will conclude with a tour of the Noble Research Institute recreational pond. We will spend the evening walking around the pond discussing and demonstrating the management principles covered in the previous sessions. We will demonstrate fish sampling techniques, aquatic vegetation, fish management and beaver mitigation, among other topics.

Pond Management Series Overview

Ponds can provide endless hours of recreation as well as increased value to a property. There are many goals for an impoundment, such as sport fishing, waterfowl, livestock water, swimming, fire suppression supply and irrigation supply. This series will focus on sport fish management in small impoundments. We will discuss how to develop a quality sport fishing impoundment from the ground up, from site selection to how to manage existing fish and everything in-between. Come learn the fundamentals of fish management that will aid you in developing and managing an enjoyable fishery on your property.
