Description: An upright, smooth plant growing from a deep bulb. Occurs in a variety of places on clayey or sandy soil. Flowers are white, usually blooming in late summer or fall. The name Rain-lily is derived from its habit of appearing within a day or two after a rain. Another Rain-lily, C. pedunculata, is similar in appearance but has longer flowers and blooms in the spring.
