Workshop on Virus Evolution
October 21-24, 1999
At The Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation, Ardmore, OK

The S.R. Noble Foundation will be sponsoring a workshop in Virus Evolution, to be held at their conference center, October 21-24, 1999. Registration will be limited to 75 people. Applicants will be accepted on the basis of submitted abstracts. All individuals working in the field of virus evolution are encouraged to apply. Areas covered will include: Quasispecies; Virus population studies; RNA and DNA virus evolution; Phylogeny estimations; Emerging viruses. The meeting organizers are Marilyn Roossinck and Jim Bull. The tentative list of speakers (subject to additions) includes: John Drake, Lin Chao, Simon Wain-Hobson, Fernando García-Arenal, Olin Kew, Colin Parrish, and others.

All participants are encouraged to give a presentation. There will be an equal number of 15 minute talks and posters. You may specify a preference, but you will not necessarily be assigned your preference. Abstracts are due July 20th. Notification of acceptance and presentation type will be made by August 1st.

Registration is free, and will include housing and meals. Participants will need to arrange and pay for their own travel expenses. Participants will be asked to submit a final extended abstract (2 pages) at the time of the meeting to be included in a proceedings publication. The conference center is located approximately 100 miles from the Dallas/Fort Worth and the Oklahoma City airports. We will make every effort to provide transportation to and from the airports providing you coordinate your travel plans with us; alternatively, rental cars are available at either location.
