In partnership with the Business and Industry Internship Program sponsored by the Southern Oklahoma Technology Center, Rebecca Elmer (Left) and Jonetta Blakely (Right) worked as volunteer employees for the Noble Foundation under the supervision of Aaron Elmer (Center). The goal of the partnership was to provide public school teachers with first-hand experience concerning job related-activities that have direct application to the subjects that they teach. During their time at the Noble Foundation, Rebecca and Jonetta were guided through a proteomic experiment involving 2-D gel electrophoresis. From the experience they have gained, they will be designing and implementing the use of percentages, linear regression, and graphing into their high school and middle school math curriculums. |
