Invitation To Attend
All faculty, postdoctoral researchers and students interested in advancing their grantsmanship and gaining insight into National Science Foundation plant science and biological programs are invited to attend this NSF Grants Conference.

Program directors from the National Science Foundation, Biological Directorate will discuss:

• Proposal Preparation. NSF program officers will review how and when to prepare a proposal, including a discussion of what constitutes a quality project and proposal. This presentation will cover do's and don'ts and recent procedural changes.
• NSF Merit Review Process. NSF program officers will discuss the philosophy of merit review and how it works as well as ad hoc and multi-tiered reviews. This presentation will also cover the role of the program officer, timing of proposal submissions, reviewer selection, release of reviewer comments, and conflict-of-interest issues related to merit review.
• Funding Opportunities in Plant Science (and Biology) in NSF. NSF program officers will review various sources of NSF programmatic opportunities.
