Characteristics: Introduced, naturalized, annual, warm season forb to 1.3 feet. Stems erect to prostrate, much branched; leaves alternate, pinnately trifoliolate compound; leaflets 3, hairless, has inconspicuous hairs pressed flat against the margins, without stipels; fruit is a 1-seeded, indehiscent pod. Flowers June-October.
Plant community type: Open uplands and bottomlands.
Comments: Often planted in pastures among perennial grasses and managed as a reseeded annual.
