Common names: coreopsis beggar-ticks, awnless beggar-ticks, tickseed sunflower Scientific names: Bidens aristosa (B. involucrata, B. polyepis) Seasons of significant use: summer Characteristics: Native, annual or biennial, warm season forb to 5.0 feet. Leaves opposite, compound, pinnate or bipinnate; leaflets mostly linear-lanceolate, serrate; head is of both ray and disk flowers, 0.7-2.0 inches broad; rays golden yellow. Flowers May-September.
