Wright began his career with the Noble Foundation in 1977 as manager of the Red River Demonstration and Research Farm. He has been a livestock specialist since 1979 and currently serves on consulting team NF-3. He assists ranchers in attaining their production goals through sound nutrition, health, reproduction, selection management, and applicability of techniques and technology to their individual operations. He is also responsible for information dissemination through articles, field days and livestock schools.

Before joining the Noble Foundation, Wright worked in various capacities in production agriculture, including dairy, grain and hay production. He also owned and operated a small commercial cow-calf operation near Starkville, Miss., and managed a 500-cow ranch in north-central Arkansas.

Wright grew up in the small northeast Arkansas community of Newport.
