Honey Locust: Identification and Management

Honey locust (Gleditisia triacanthos L.) is a native tree species with a natural range that extends from central Pennsylvania to South Dakota to southeastern Texas to Alabama. At maturity, trees may be 70 to 80 feet tall and 2 to 3 feet in diameter at breast height, although under ideal conditions they may be up to 140 feet tall and 5 to 6 feet in diameter at breast height.
