Description: A thicket forming shrub or sometimes small tree occurring on wet soil in granite outcrops. Found locally in Johnston and Bryan counties of Oklahoma. Also local in southern Delaware and the east shore of Maryland. Is thought to be native only to these two widely separated areas.
