Description:
A large tree common to wet bottomland soils in the eastern portion of our region. Leaves are narrow and long or lanceshaped. The acorns are eaten by many wildlife species. Willow oak is a member of the "Red/Black" oak group whose leaf veins extend past the leaf margin to form bristles. Acorns mature in the fall of the second year.
