Description: A forb occurring in open areas of the Cross Timbers and in the Blackland Prairie. Fruit is brown, oval shaped and matures in late spring. Short, dense bristles (similar to Velcro ) attach to fur or clothing as a method of seed dispersal. Is browsed by deer in the spring.
