Description:
A coarse stemmed, upright weedy forb found in pastures and disturbed areas. Stems may be red or have red streaks. Leaves are large, usually with stiff, short hair causing them to be coarse to the touch. Can be a problem in introduced pastures. Birds eat pigweed seed and deer browse the foliage.
