The Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation, Inc.

Research Program Funding

Lloyd Noble, the founder of the Noble Foundation, established an endowment in 1945 for the sustained operations of the institution. This endowment enables stable funding and other support for the administrative, agricultural and research activities of the organization.

Notwithstanding the opportunities afforded by such endowment, the Board of Trustees of the Noble Foundation recognizes the benefit of increasing research support through state, federal and international funding sources as well as collaborations with industry. These external funding opportunities provide career development skills, leadership opportunities and recognition within the scientific and agricultural communities.

In addition to traditional competitive funding, Noble Foundation scientists and researchers have been and continue to be key participants in a number of significant state and national research initiatives. These initiatives, which support Noble Foundation research, include the Department of Energy's BioEnergy Science Center at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Oklahoma's Consortium for Legume Research (co-founding institutional member), the Oklahoma Bioenergy Center (co-founding institutional member) and the national Consortium for Legume Research.

Noble Foundation scientists and researchers regularly receive support from the agencies and other organizations shown here.
