Free Noble Foundation Agricultural Division Event is Open to the Public
From regulatory requirements like the National Animal Identification System to production factors such as bull selection, today's cattle producers must stay current on industry issues and standards if they hope to remain viable.
To bring producers up to date on some of the industry's current topics, the Noble Foundation is hosting a Livestock Production Seminar on Friday, March 31, at the Conference Center at the Southern Oklahoma Technology Center in Ardmore.
During the seminar, Noble specialists will cover:
the National Animal Identification System, including premises identification and process, electronic identification tags, readers and software and age and source verification;
records, including what to keep and how to use them;
bull selection;
using artificial insemination (AI) in a commercial cowherd and the value of palpation;
estrous synchronization protocols for AI;
beef quality assurance (BQA); and
cattle outlook.
The seminar will be from 9AM to 4PM. There is a $10 registration fee.
The Southern Oklahoma Technology is located at 2610 Sam Noble Parkway.
To register, contact Melissa Castleman at (580) 224-6411 or sign up online at http://www.noble.org/AgEvents.
