The Noble Foundation is hosting a public Fertilizer Safety School on Tuesday,
January 25. The event, which is scheduled from 4 to 7 p.m. and includes a meal,
will be in the Kruse Auditorium on the Foundation's campus in Ardmore.
| The meeting is designed to show the importance of protecting supplies
of ammonium nitrate and anhydrous ammonia from terrorists and drug manufacturers,
inform farmers and ranchers of new proposed laws and regulations that may
make obtaining ammonium nitrate more difficult and expensive and provide
tips on how to protect fertilizer from thieves. Noble Foundation specialists
and outside experts will address: |
- history of ammonium nitrate,
- new and proposed rules and regulations,
- effects of regulation on price/availability,
- practical methods of protecting fertilizer,
- protecting ammonium nitrate from misuse,
- protecting anhydrous ammonia from misuse,
- fertilizer safety from a retailer's perspective.
