The Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation, Inc.   Noble Foundation offers Winter Pasture/Stocker Cattle Seminar

Winter nutrition for cattle is both critical and expensive. To help area cattle producers make more informed decisions about winter pasture options and the potential profitability of stocker cattle enterprises, the Noble Foundation will present a seminar on Tuesday, July 18, at the Southern Oklahoma Technology Center in Ardmore, Okla.

Noble has conducted research on intensively managed winter pasture, stocker cattle and the related economics and practicalities for more than 40 years. In the 1990s, the Noble Foundation established an ongoing research program to improve cool-season grasses for weather and soil conditions in the Southern Great Plains.

During the seminar, Noble Foundation specialists and scientists will speak about:
• cool-season perennials research;
• pasture establishment techniques;
• cattle backgrounding alternatives;
• grazing considerations;
• pasture supplementation options; and
• the economic outlook for cattle.

The seminar will be from 2:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. There is a $10 registration fee, which includes dinner.

The Southern Oklahoma Technology Center is located east of the Noble Foundation campus at 2610 Sam Noble Parkway.
