Once available only to employees, farm-fresh vegetables, fruit and flowers grown
by the Noble Foundation are now on sale to the public.
Starting Tuesday, July 5, the produce market will be open from 7:30 a.m. to
5:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. It is located behind the Foundation's
Soil/Forage Receiving Building on the south side of Sam Noble Parkway (a large
sign marks the driveway).
Fresh-picked tomatoes, seven kinds of peppers (hot and mild), zucchini, squash,
sweet corn and gladiolus flowers are currently available at the market.
The produce market is a pilot project of the Foundation's Agricultural Division.
It is designed to demonstrate how to run a commercial horticulture operation,
from production methods through marketing to consumers. The Foundation plans
to use the information gained from the produce market to help local growers
find the best ways to raise and sell their own produce.
Call the Foundation at 223-5810 for more information.
