Pecan Grafting Seminar Set April 20

ARDMORE -- Pecan producers and homeowners interested in getting the best possible production from their pecan trees are invited to attend a pecan grafting seminar Friday, April 20, beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the Noble Foundation's Kruse Auditorium in Ardmore.

Presenters at the seminar will include Noble Foundation horticulturist Gordon "Dooly" Barlow, Foundation pecan specialist Scott Landgraf, retired pecan specialist Dr. Glenn "Cat" Taylor, and OSU Extension pecan specialist Dr. Dean McCraw.

Topics to be covered include the theory of pecan grafting, pecan variety selection, three different grafting technique demonstrations, and grafting follow-up procedures. The seminar will include a time for questions and answers as well as an optional outdoor hands-on grafting demonstration.

The seminar is scheduled to conclude between 3:30 and 4:00 p.m.
