About the Foundation Media Contact |
Oklahoma's Commissioner of Agriculture Terry L. Peach today recognized the Agricultural
Division of the Noble Foundation for 60 years of contributions to Oklahoma's agriculture
industry. Since 1945, the Foundation has designed, developed and maintained substantial
programs to guide agricultural producers and others in the pursuit of conservation
and responsible management of Oklahoma's renewable natural resources.
The Foundation's Agricultural Division helps Oklahoma farmers and ranchers achieve their financial, agriculture production, and quality-of-life goals through consultation, demonstration and educational events. The division's research program further discovers and improves practices and technologies and develops new knowledge to benefit effective land management and agricultural pursuits. "We are honored that Secretary Peach recognized the men and women of the Noble Foundation's Agricultural Division for their years of service to agriculture, and in particular, to Oklahoma agriculture," said Wadell Altom, director of the Noble Foundation's Agricultural Division. "We are mindful of the strong commitment our founder, Lloyd Noble, had to agriculture and improving and conserving the land resources we have been given. The Agricultural Division serves an important role in our organization's meeting this continuing commitment." The recognition was part of the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food and
Forestry's annual Ag Day at the Capitol in Oklahoma City. ### The Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation (www.noble.org), headquartered in Ardmore, Okla., is a nonprofit organization conducting agricultural, forage improvement and plant biology research; providing grants to non-profit charitable, educational and health organizations; and assisting farmers and ranchers through educational and consultative agricultural programs.
