Noble President Appointed to Board of Research Institute
 
 
     

Michael A. Cawley, president of The Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation, Ardmore, Oklahoma, has been appointed to the board of directors of the National Center for Genome Resources (NCGR), Santa Fe, N.M.

NCGR is a nonprofit life sciences research institute that seeks to combine and translate research in bioscience, computing and mathematics into improvements affecting the treatment of infectious diseases, global health, and nutrition. The objectives of NCGR are to improve diagnosis, control and cure of infectious disease, better nutrition and food safety.

In addition to the appointment of Cawley, the NCGR board further added the following directors:

  • Donald Armstrong, M.D., member emeritus, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, New York.
  • Charles J. Arntzen, Ph.D., co-director of the Center for Infectious Diseases & Vaccinology, The Biodesign Center, Arizona State University, Tempe, Ariz.

  • Mark B. Chandler, Ph.D., chairman and CEO, Biophysical Corp., Austin, Texas.

Cawley has served as the president of the Noble Foundation since 1992.
