ARDMORE, Okla. — One of the most important, but often overlooked aspects of managing a profitable agricultural enterprise is recordkeeping.

To assist farmers and ranchers in enhancing their recording keeping skills in the new year, agricultural consultants with The Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation will host "Recordkeeping for Agriculture Producers." The workshop will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 19, 2012, at the Noble Foundation Kruse Auditorium (located at 2510 Sam Noble Parkway, Ardmore, Okla., 73401).

This seminar will discuss that importance of financial and production records to making management decisions that drive profitability, as well as how to properly store and keep these files. Participants will also learn the steps necessary to prepare a net worth statement.

"Recordkeeping is vital to making informed management decisions, but it's also one of the most overlooked aspects of being an agricultural producer," said Job Springer, Noble Foundation agricultural economist. "Attendees of this workshop will have the opportunity to learn what records to keep for their operation and how they can be utilized to better their business."

The event is offered at no charge, but advance registration is required. To register, please contact Tracy Cumbie at 580.224.6292 or at www.noble.org/AgEvents.
