ARDMORE, Okla. — The Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation will host a Science Teacher Appreciation Day that will provide local educators an opportunity to interact with the organization's scientific staff and receive $200 in supplies.

This special event will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 14, in the atrium of the Noble Foundation's Forage Improvement Division building. "The Noble Foundation has supported science, technology and agriculture for 65 years," said Pam Pettitt, purchasing coordinator. "This evening is a way to thank our local science teachers for their hard work and dedication, as well as provide them with much needed supplies for classrooms."

The event will kick off at 4 p.m. with registration, followed by a tour of the facilities at 4:15 p.m. The science teachers will then be treated to two brief demonstrations by Noble Foundation scientific staff.

The evening will conclude with the science teachers having an opportunity to "shop" in the Noble Foundation's supply room, where they may select up to $200 in supplies ranging from goggles and forceps to test tubes and beakers.

To be eligible for the special evening, the educators must teach science between the fifth and 12th grades at a school in Carter County. For additional information, contact Pettitt by calling 580.224.6611 or by e-mailing pspettitt@noble.org.
