The Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation will conclude the 2007-2008 Public Lectures in Science series at 7 p.m., Thursday, April 24, at the Kruse Auditorium on the Noble Foundation's Ardmore campus.

The three-part series will wrap up with a presentation by Terry Bidwell, Ph.D., entitled Prairie Restoration with Fire and Grazing. As a Professor of Rangeland Ecology for Oklahoma State University, Bidwell's lecture will examine how this ecosystem can be maintained and restored through good management, including controlled burning.

"Oklahoma has some of the last remaining native prairie lands in the United States, which are home to a unique ecosystem of plants and animals," said Marilyn Roossinck, Ph.D., Public Lectures in Science organizer and a professor in the Noble Foundation's Plant Biology Division. "As an expert, Dr. Bidwell's talk focuses on what makes the prairie so amazing and the methods for keeping it viable."

Bidwell's presentation is open to the public and offered at no cost courtesy of the Noble Foundation. A reception will follow the event.
