Each summer The Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation's Agriculture Division provides an agriculture adventure for 24 deserving students from across southern Oklahoma and North Texas. Called AgVenture, this four-day summer camp is designed for high school students (sophomores through seniors) who have demonstrated a strong interest in agriculture and may be contemplating a career in agriculture.
"There is not another summer camp like the Noble Foundation's AgVenture," said Shan Ingram, education and special projects manager. "For four days, the Noble Foundation's agricultural specialists provide these students with the opportunity to experience the many unique facets of production agriculture and research. Not only is AgVenture educational, it's highly enlightening and informational. The students have a great time together and the Noble Foundation staff becomes more motivated." The application deadline for AgVenture is April 15. Applications for AgVenture can be obtained online at www.noble.org/Ag/Agventure/2008/. AgVenture is limited to no more than 24 participants who are selected by a committee on a competitive basis. Applicants will be notified of the committee's decision by May 1. There is no fee for AgVenture, and the Noble Foundation provides transportation, meals and housing for all students and sponsoring staff.
