For those looking to find that special getaway, Ron Stahl knows the perfect place.
Stahl, the director of marketing for Oklahoma State Parks, Resorts and Golf, will provide a wealth of information about Oklahoma's best travel destinations when he takes the stage as the third speaker in The Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation's 10th anniversary edition of its speakers series, Profiles and Perspectives.
Beginning at 7 p.m., Tuesday, March 4, at the Charles B. Goddard Center (located at 401 1st Avenue S.W., Ardmore, Okla.), Stahl's presentation is open to the public and offered at no cost, courtesy of the Noble Foundation.
"Ron Stahl's visit to southern Oklahoma comes at the perfect time for those beginning to make their spring break or summer vacation plans," said Mary Kate Wilson, Noble Foundation Granting Program Officer and chair of the Profiles and Perspectives Committee. "There are so many amazing getaways in Oklahoma, and this installment of the Noble Foundation's Profiles and Perspectives series will help attendees find a spot that meets their vacationing needs."
Stahl has a unique perspective on Oklahoma's state parks, resorts and golfing locales. As a feature reporter for the "Discover Oklahoma" television show, Stahl crisscrossed Oklahoma, visiting the state's many tourist destinations. Stahl's current post offers him an insider's perspective into some of the best and off-the-beaten-path vacation spots in the state.
"Not only will he give the audience great information about the various destinations around Oklahoma, but he will also provide insight into how to recognize a tourist attraction, as well as other practical information on traveling," Wilson said. "His presentation promises to be news you can use to relax."
The 2007-2008 Profiles and Perspectives season concludes Tuesday, April 29, with Lt. Col. (ret.) Steve Russell, commander of the unit that was central to the capture of Saddam Hussein. Russell served in the United States Army for more than two decades before retiring with his family to Oklahoma. He now travels across the United States and Canada speaking about his military experiences.
