The Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation Agricultural Division will host a pond management workshop from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 11, near Lexington. The workshop will feature sessions on largemouth bass and bluegill hook-and-line surveys; seine surveys; fish, aquatic animal and aquatic plant identification; and sport fish pond management. Noble Foundation wildlife specialists will be on hand to address participant questions. "This is a hands-on workshop that will provide participants a wealth of information about pond management," said Mike Porter, wildlife and fisheries specialist. "We hope help people learn how to inventory, interpret and manage pond ecosystems to improve sport fishing." Each attendee should bring a rod, reel and terminal tackle to help during the hook-and-line surveys. Porter also asks that attendees dress appropriately for fishing and potentially wet, muddy and hot conditions. The Noble Foundation will provide drinks during the workshop. 07-050 ### News Release Issued: September 6, 2007 The Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation, Inc.
