Forage-based beef cattle production is the primary agricultural enterprise in southern Oklahoma and northern Texas. Dr. Reuter's training is in forage-based beef cattle nutrition, and his research focuses on improving performance, efficiency and welfare of commercial beef cattle in grazing systems. Research is conducted in several major areas, including: beef cow efficiency, grazing systems evaluation, grazing supplementation, and stocker cattle health. One of the major strengths of the Noble Foundation's beef cattle research program is in conducting applied research. The goal of most beef cattle research projects at the Noble Foundation is to produce information that ranchers can use to help make management decisions.
