Characteristics: Native, perennial, cool season grass with culms to 2.5 feet. Forms winter rosettes. Culms not velvety-pubescent with glutinous bands below the nodes; nodes bearded; principal culm leaf blades ovate-lanceolate to broadly lanceolate, 0.6-1.2 inches wide and 2.5-4 times longer than wide. Flowers May-October including spring and fall phases.

Plant community type: Wooded bottomland.
