Characteristics: Native, perennial, warm season forb to 6.0 feet. Stems erect; leaves alternate, pinnately trifoliolate compound; leaflets 3, densely hairy below, without stipels; flowers and fruits in a dense, compact, nearly spherical head; fruit is 1-seeded, indehiscent pod. Flowers June-August.
Plant community type: Open uplands.
Comments: Often disappears in overgrazed situations.
