Seasons of significant use: summer

Characteristics: Native, perennial, cool season forb to 10.0 inches. Plants usually growing in tufts or mats; stems ascending or decumbent, leafy, usually with appressed hairs; leaves alternate, compound; leaflets 3; inflorescence 1-several flowered; flowers yellow; fruit is a cylindrical, ridged capsule. Flowers February-November.

Plant community type: Open areas and semi-open wooded areas. Somewhat shade tolerant.
