Seasons of significant use: spring

Characteristics: Native, annual or biennial, cool season forb to 1.5 feet. Stems usually ascending but sometimes erect, much branched, to 2.5 feet. Leaves alternate, simple, almost round to kidney shaped, deeply cleft into 5-9 toothed or lobed segments; inflorescence bunched; flower petals pale pink to white; fruit has an elongated bill or beak. Flowers March-September.

Plant community type: Usually in open and wooded areas that receive partial sunlight. Often found along roadsides or other areas of mild disturbances.
