May 29 - Pecan Workshop
This will be from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the Kruse Auditorium on the Noble Foundation campus. The topic in May will be pest control. There is no registration fee.
June 12 - BQA Field Day
The Noble Foundation and the NF1 Team will be hosting a Beef Quality Assurance Field Day on June 12, 2008 in the Velma, OK area. Participants will have the opportunity to become certified in the newly created Oklahoma Beef Quality Assurance Program. If you are interested in signing up, please call Lori Heman at (580) 224-6430. Limited spots are available. A portion of the program will take place in a classroom setting (Velma-Alma High School Vo-Ag Classroom) and there will be a "hands-on" opportunity at Hunter Aldridge's Wild Horse Hay Farm. Lunch will be provided for a small fee.
This will be an excellent time to brush up or learn a few pointers on low stress cattle handling, vaccination programs (including what to use and when), proper techniques for implanting growth hormones, ear tagging, castrating and administration of injections.
We are still nailing down the details, so more information will be forthcoming.
June 17 - Largemouth Bass and Bluegill Management in Ponds Workshop
This event will be held at the Creede Speake Ranch near Milo, OK from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. There is no registration fee and lunch is not provided.

May 27 - Jack County Brush Management Meeting
This event will be held at the Jack County Fair Barn at 6 p.m. Topics include integrated brush management methods, mesquite, prickly pear and juniper control, and an EQIP update. Pesticide applicator CEUs will be given. Pre-register by calling (940) 567-2132.
May 28 - Pesticide Applicator License Testing
Testing for Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) pesticide applicator licenses will be held at the Wichita County Extension office beginning at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, May 28. This testing will be for all classes of TDA pesticide applicator licenses: Private, Commercial and Non-Commercial. Pre-registration is required. Call TDA at (214) 631-0265 to pre-register.
June 3 - Warm Season Forage Field Day
Meet at 5:30 p.m. on Hwy 380 east of Jacksboro and about 5 miles west of the Jack/Wise county line on the south side of the highway. Chuck Coffey from the Noble Foundation will be the featured speaker. We will look at 17 different varieties of introduced grasses and discuss why a producer would choose one and how to establish introduced grasses. There are also four popular herbicide treatments to look at. Pesticide applicator CEUs will be given. Pre-register by calling (940) 567-2132.
July 23 - Lawton Agroterrorism Seminar
Learn how to protect your animals, farm and investment. Attend this informative meeting on agroterrorism. There will be discussions on prevention as well as what to do if it happens to you.
