Sweeten was an agricultural intern with Noble Foundation the summer of 1989. He joined the Agricultural Division full time in 2007 as an ag research assistant. For the last 6 years Sweeten worked with a stocker-grower operation in Marshall County Oklahoma.

He was also a commercial cow/calf operation with a small registered Angus herd. Sweeten grew up in southern Oklahoma.
