Blanton serves as the research program manager for the Agricultural Division's Agricultural Research Team. He came to the Noble Foundation in 2008.

Before joining the Noble Foundation, Blanton worked for a pharmaceutical company, Intervet Inc., for two years. Prior to that, Blanton was an associate professor at Texas Tech University, Lubbock, Texas, for eight years.

Blanton is a member of the following professional organizations: American Society of Animal Science, American Meat Science Association, Gamma Sigma and American Society of Cytometry.

Blanton grew up in Wesley Chapel, Fla., and Pinckney, Mich.
