    • Master of Science in agronomy, 1995, Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, Okla.
    • Bachelor of Science in agronomy, 1993, Oklahoma State University

Ball, the soil and crops specialist on consulting team NF-3, has been with the Noble Foundation since 1997. His experience is primarily in introduced pasture and row crop production, working with bermudagrass, wheat, soybeans, corn, grain sorghum and alfalfa.

Ball's responsibilities include agronomic consultation with Noble Foundation cooperators and the public and demonstration and research efforts on Noble Foundation farms. He is currently looking at alternative cropping systems for south-central Oklahoma and north Texas, such as no-till small grain pasture production. Ball also is researching nitrogen rate and timing of application as related to stockpiled bermudagrass production. He plans to demonstrate the advantages of stockpiled bermudagrass as an alternative to haying in a cow-calf operation.

Before coming to the Noble Foundation, Ball worked for two years as a crop management specialist with Farmland Industries, Inc., in Seneca, Kansas. In 1997, he received the Outstanding Achievement Award in Crop Production for his efforts.

Ball grew up near Tecumseh, Okla.
