Fabricating Rubber Lumber for Raised Bed Gardens
Step by Step Photo Instructions

1. Equipment used to construct rubber lumber.
2. Use a jigsaw to remove sidewalls from the tires.
3. Cut the tread with a power hacksaw to produce long pieces.
4. Orient the tread facing down while connecting tread pieces with screws.
5. Form a loop at both ends of the board.
6. Remove protruding screw tips with a grinder.
7. A 30-foot rubber board ready for transport.
8. A 30-foot rubber board rests in rebar "cradles."
9. Use a hand winch to stretch 30-foot long rubber boards prior to staking.
10. A 40-inch by 30-foot rubber board bed, ready to fill with soil mix.
11. An end piece made from a single piece of tire tread.
12. The perfect combination - 40-inch by 30-foot recycled tire beds constructed on 5-foot centers.
