Look For Info - Forage - Ag News & Views

It seems we are all bombarded with so much information, we have a difficult time just getting to the information we really want. As you search for information, how many times do you hear "It is on our Web site"? What if you do not have Internet access? Whether we like it or not, often times the quickest source of the most recent information is the Internet.

Many organizations such as universities, USDA agencies, the Noble Foundation and others are making most of their printed materials available by Internet. In some instances, university specialists also make their PowerPoint presentations available by placing them on their Web sites.

A few months ago, we contacted several public libraries in our area and all of them have Internet access. In addition, all the contacted libraries can print documents (most at a reasonable cost) if requested. If you do not have your own Internet access, I would encourage you to visit a library and discover what is available.

The Noble Foundation Web site provides access to newsletters, bulletins, booklets, cattle and hay for sale or pasture available (eCattleLog), plant identification (Plant Image Gallery) and much more. The Noble Foundation home page can be found at www.noble.org and the Agricultural Division’s address is www.noble.org/ag. The Ag Division home page will direct you to the items mentioned above.

Those of you who are cooperators know to contact the members of your consulting team for answers to specific questions, but what if you have questions and are not a cooperator? The Agricultural Division provides answers to agriculture-related questions through our HelpLine service. Callers are directed to the HelpLine assistant, Annie Coble, who obtains specific information from the caller and then either provides the requested information or forwards the call to the appropriate Noble Foundation specialist. This service is available by calling (580) 223-5810 or (580) 224-6500.
