Characteristics: Native, annual, warm season forb to 1.5 feet. Leaves alternate, pinnately compound, in 2 rows, usually sensitive to touch; leaflets 8-22 pairs; flowers relatively inconspicuous, with 5 stamens; petals unequal, mostly yellow, 0.12-0.31 inch; fruit is a flat linear pod. Flowers May-October.

Plant community type: Open uplands and bottomlands.
